Scholarship Matching Fund

In 1990, Dr. Ray Irani established the LLCS Scholarship Matching Fund by offering a matching grant of $10,000 at a meeting of LLCS members. Mrs. Leila Milkie was appointed chairman of this fund raising program and that year a total of $41, 900 was collected. Dr. Irani increased his grant to $30,000 a year and we were able to match his grant for many years.

Since its inception, the Scholarship Matching Fund has provided $2 million for scholarships in Lebanon to needy and orphaned students, regardless of religious or political affiliation.

Every year in May and September, the Scholarship Matching Fund committee sends letters to our supporters. We operate this program with no overhead, so 100% of your donation goes directly into scholarship funding.
