LLCS Scholarship Program

The Lebanese Ladies Cultural Society Scholarship Program was established to provide scholarships for needy children in all areas of Lebanon. For over 30 years the LLCS has upheld its commitment to its Scholarship Program by raising funds through monthly events and a spring gala. Through the generous work of many volunteers and a host of loyal supporters, the LLCS has become one of the most respected educational charities in the Lebanese American community.

To date we have awarded over 14,000 scholarships totaling over $4 million.

The Scholarship Program grew out of the heart-felt desire of its members

The Scholarship Committee of the LLCS administers the program and the distribution of funds to Scholarship applicants in Lebanon. From the beginning, stringent rules were established to determine eligibility of applicants. Students are not judged based on geography, religious background, or political affiliation. Every dollar sent to Lebanon is accounted for. The Scholarship Program is also represented in Lebanon by a liaison officer and volunteers who coordinate the work of the committee with the schools in Lebanon.

Making their dreams…

The results have been gratifying: the majority of LLCS scholarship recipients have gone on to enroll in colleges and universities, while others have gone into the work force, using their high school diploma to help support their families. Thanks to the continued support of our generous members, friends, the Matching Fund, and the F.M. Jabara Endowment and Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Jacobs Endowment Funds, the LLCS Scholarship Program has granted over 14,000 scholarship totaling over $4 million.

Why do we work so hard?

If you read the letters from the students, parents and school principals, you would understand why.
As one student wrote:
“May God bless you and always be by your side because if the hope of Lebanon lies in its young people, the hope of these young people lies in you.”
